It is a truth universally acknowledged that book mail is the best mail. Hundreds of thousands of audiobook cartridges make their way out to NLS patrons every year through the postal system. In many ways, the United States Postal Service is a key part of ensuring we meet our mission: That all may read. Since 1904 the USPS has mailed reading materials for the blind postage-free when sent by public institutions like NLS. So, Thank-A-Mail-Carrier-Day is a pretty big day around here. We send our thanks to our friends at USPS for helping NLS fulfill our commitment to our patrons and to keep Americans reading. If you catch your mail carrier on their route today, be sure to extend your appreciation as well!

If you are curious about receiving accessible reading materials delivered straight to your door at no cost to you, you can learn more about NLS and start an application for service here: https://www.loc.gov/nls/thatallmayread/benefits/?loclr=fbnls

Tactile Connections starts! What a great crowd!! It is so exciting to see educators from across the state attending this training. All students matter and should have access to communication and curriculum. Justin and Nabiha thanks for putting this together!
